This space has always been used for arts services. In 2005, Face Studios emerged as the first arts and culture organization as a tenant of Dorchester Lincoln Properties LLC. In 2011, Howard Art Project assumed management of this community resource. In 2014, they changed the name of the space to Dorchester Art Project. In 2017, Brain Arts Organization helped create the DAP that most people are familiar with today.
Now in 2023 a new cooperative organization that values community ownership and participatory structures in governance is being developed to carry this community resource forward.
The steering committee that was assembled in 2023 is focused on

3) finding commercial real estate suitable for cultural assembly

In August, our landlord will be raising the rent from $3,000 a month to $7,000 a month. With this increase quickly approaching, we are uncertain if the future of this space will remain
